Too many new characters upon new characters being recycled over and over, it seems like there’s one for each episode.

It appears the writers don’t know the rules to chess. You can’t put your king in danger even if you wanted to.
I think the rules are different in japan :/…… HAHA orange boy!

there are two explanations to the chess issue.
First of all, it IS legal to move into check, but doing so is to yield the game to your opponent, it is roughly the same thing as turning the king on its side.
Also, in Japan they do not have chess, they have Shogi. In Shogi, there is no obligation to inform your opponent that he is in check, as they take it for granted that if your opponent is unaware that his king is in danger, he deserves to lose.
